The Worm Ouroboros

The Worm Ouroboros is absolutely one of my favorite books. The concept of infinity or a never ending process has always fascinated me.

The same paradigm afflicts leaders. Ask a leader if they are successful and they will probably say “no”. The reason being that all they can think of is how much is left to do even after great accomplishments have been achieved. This mental model (or affliction) is what makes the great - great.

The problem with this is that it often means leaders do not celebrate successes along the way for themselves or their teams.

One of the things you can do today to take your leadership to the next level is to on a weekly basis celebrate something someone on your team has done. Better yet, create a culture where everyone celebrates others’ successes. Your team needs this.
