So it has been almost 6 months since I posted something. I was not idle. I was trying to take this blog in a new direction. I woke up one day and realized that instead of pontificating about how I make business decisions I would chronicle the adventures of people in full time jobs with a business idea. These would be people afraid of taking the leap into entrepreneurship, so I would coach and connect them and hold them accountable for getting their dream off the ground while blogging about their experience. What better way to motivate myself and others than by telling real stories from start to finish with all the ups and downs.
Well, it was not as easy to find people who were ready to commit time and money to their business dreams. I did not find one person, and believe me, I know a lot of people in full time jobs. Of course some of my entrepreneur friends volunteered, but I said no. I was interested in capturing the emotion wrapped up in the process of actually building a company while working and having someone constantly pushing you to quit your day job if the business actually seemed like a viable option if given the appropriate attention.
So here I am writing about starting over. There are two dimensions to this reboot. First, I am pivoting my company RetraceHealth. I spent the last 4 months working on this company and through my pilots with my customers came to the conclusion two days ago that it is time to pivot. Second, this blog will be about my journey. I will not try and document nuggets of wisdom as I did in my previous posts. Now I will chronicle my journey. It may end in success and or end in defeat. But no matter what happens I and you will learn a ton about ourselves and business so that we can get back up and try again.
I have to thank my wife for being so supportive as I try to make it as an entrepreneur. If it was not for her, I probably would have quit a long time ago on business and this blog.
